Foulées des Laveuses - Live Webcast 16th June 2008

Follow a replay of a runner's progress in the Foulées des Laveuses on this website, with real-time tracking of his position on a map and graphs of his ECG, heart rate, speed and altitude.

The famous Foulées des Laveuses race is at Coudray-Montceaux near Paris.

Alive Technologies and Cyberfab have partnered to set up this live webcast.

AliveSport provides real time remote monitoring of exercise performance for medical, sports and fitness applications.

The system, which was developed by Alive Technologies, uses the Alive Bluetooth Heart Monitor, a Bluetooth GPS and Bluetooth mobile phone worn by each runner.

The mobile phone transmits all the data to a web server via GPRS over the mobile phone network

The website shows the subject's position on a map in real time, with graphs of their ECG, heart rate, speed and altitude.

The system is being used for a number of different application including cardiac rehabilitation monitoring, occupational health monitoring, patient monitoring in the home and for live sports events and training.

The Queensland University of Technology Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation is using the system for the CardioMobile cardiac rehabilitation project for remote areas in Australia.
